Pottinger unveils new 500hp-rated Servo T 6000 ploughs
Pottinger is hoping for a resurgence in demand for big ploughs after unveiling its new Servo T 6000 range.
The semi-mounted models are available with a headstock rated at up to 500hp and in six- to nine-furrow format in Standard and Plus spec, or with six, seven or eight bodies in fancier Nova or Plus Nova guise.
The latter includes Pottinger’s hydraulic break-back system, which has an adjustable trigger pressure of up to 2,200kg that can be altered via a single-acting spool valve to avoid hold-ups in stony conditions.
Standard clearance under the 160x160mm main beam is 80cm, though longer legs can be specified, and inter-body clearance is 102cm.

A so-called “traction control” system uses an extra hydraulic ram to transfer the weight of the plough to the tractor, allowing up to 1,100kg to be applied to the rear wheels.
This should help reduce wheel slip and the associated soil smearing and, claims the Austrian maker, can cut fuel consumption by up to 3.5 litres/ha. It may also save fitting rear-axle ballast.
Pottinger says it has also simplified adjustments, with working depth set in 2.5cm increments using swing clips on the support wheel, which is set close to the frame to allow for getting close to field boundaries.
On base-spec models the front furrow width is tweaked via a turnbuckle on the stabiliser, but a hydraulic ram is available as an upgrade.
Furrow width adjustment can also be controlled via a spool on Plus and Plus Nova models, with working widths of 35-58cm on each body.
There are also fewer grease points than previous models, the Durastar tungsten carbide points are reversible and the long drawbar should make it easier to turn at the end of a bout.
Operating weight ranges from 3,010kg on the basic six-furrow to 4,180kg for a high-spec nine.
