Zeneca fungicide sales set to soar to £150m

SALES of Zenecas new fungicide Amistar are rising quickly. They should be worth £150m next year, according to chief executive Sir David Barnes. The fungicide was launched this year.

First-half operating profits in the agrochemicals division rose 19% to £218m, on a 9% sales increase to £1.01bn.

Group pre-tax profits were £699m up, from £610m a year ago. But the strong Pound affected turnover, which was down from £2.94bn to £2.75bn.
