Yorks F&Mtests negative at last
LIVESTOCK movement restrictions have been lifted in Yorkshire after final tests on sheep suspected of having foot-and-mouth disease proved negative.
The all-clear was given to St Agnes farm at Hawnby, near Thirsk, on Sunday (Mar 3).
Movement restrictions had been imposed for a five-mile radius around the farm, which was due to restock after having its animals culled as dangerous contacts last August.
The farm had just begun the restocking process when a government vet carrying out a routine check became suspicious of lesions in the mouths of two sheep. *
