Wool carryover fall
LESS wool will be carried over this year than last, despite a bigger clip, says the British Wool Marketing Board.
Sales have been helped by more forward sales, new options on slow-moving grades and an extra sale in May. By the end of April 42.36m kg of wool had been sold, compared with 40.47m kg at the same time last year.
Also, just over 5.5m kg of new seasons wool had been sold forward, over twice as much as last year, but the sale indicator has barely moved from 60-65p/kg. *
