Win a Farm Stay getaway with FW Sentiment Survey
It’s that time of year again when we seek to take the pulse of the farming sector with our annual Farmers Weekly Sentiment Survey – and this year there’s an added incentive to participate.
In association with our charity partners the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (Rabi) and the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution (Rsabi), we are offering four lucky individuals a £250 voucher each for a getaway break at a Farm Stay holiday cottage or B&B.

To encourage good involvement from all four corners of the UK, one voucher will be allocated to each country, with four lucky winners chosen from all those who complete the survey.
The Farmers Weekly Sentiment Survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and seeks farmers’ and farm managers’ views on how the past year has been for business, and how they view their prospects for the year ahead.
Our commercial sponsor Lantra has also posed a couple of questions about labour availability and staff communication, while Rabi/Rsabi would like to know about farmers’ willingness to take a break.
Greatest challenge?
Last year’s Sentiment Survey revealed that “extreme weather” was the greatest challenge farmers had faced in 2023, followed by high input prices, lower output prices and government policy.
It will be interesting to see what stands out this year – a year which also saw a change of government, the reappearance of various pests and diseases, and record levels of rural crime.
The survey is open until Wednesday 13 November, and the results will be analysed in the Christmas double edition of Farmers Weekly.
All information will be treated in confidence, so please take a few moments to share your views.
And good luck with the prize draw. A £250 Farm Stay minibreak could be just the ticket to drive away those winter blues!
Winter Wellbeing Appeal
As well as being partners for this year’s Sentiment Survey, Farmers Weekly has joined Rabi and Rsabi in their Winter Wellbeing Appeal – a fundraising campaign targeted at those in the farming community who may feel isolated, lonely or are finding it hard to cope with their general wellbeing as winter approaches.
So far we’ve raised more than £1,000 – but we’re hoping for a lot more than that!
Anyone reading this is encouraged to donate. The funds accumulated could help support a farming family in crisis.
