The force of a landslide caused substantial damage to the house, flooding it with water and debris.
The family was rescued from the house by five crews from the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Mr Owens expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped and offered support. “It’s been a terrifying couple of days, but somehow luckily we are all OK,’’ Mr Owens wrote in a post on Facebook.
“As a family we can’t thank everyone enough. We live in a fantastic community, it really is overwhelming for us.’’
Meanwhile, West Mercia Police said it was investigating an incident in which a tractor drove through Tenbury Wells’ flooded high street yesterday (24 November), sending a wave of water across shop fronts.
One shop owner said the force of the water had broken the front window of her store.
In a statement, the town’s police force said it was “actively investigating’’ the incident, but no arrests had been made.
