Video: Digital mapping for CAP 2015 unveiled

A team of 300 IT experts is working to build a single online application and payments system in time for the new CAP scheme in 2015.

The online service will be rolled out to about 100 farmers from July. It will be expanded to all customers by the end of the year. It will replace the Rural Payment Agency’s existing single payment scheme, launched in 2005.

The new digital service will ultimately allow customers to view and make changes to their land details on a digital map, such as adding in trees, ponds and fences.

IT expert Ali Rawashdeh of the CAP Delivery Programme offers an insight into some of the new mapping features on the system.
