US milk contaminated by nuclear fallout
US milk was contaminated in the 1950s because of fallout from nuclear bomb tests, according to a confidential report from the National Cancer Institute.
The nuclear tests took place in Nevada from 1951 to 1962. The fallout was greater than expected, and drifted further, causing hot spots in large areas ofNew Mexico, Oklahoma, Iowa, Wisconsin, New York and Massachusetts.
