Unpasteurised milk linked to E coli outbreak

SIX young Dorset children are seriously ill with E coli food poisoning – and the finger of blame is being pointed at unpasteurised milk.

The children were taken ill after a tea party at Renscombe Farm, Worth Matravers, near Purbeck. Dorset Health Authority is trying to establish the source of the illness, but at least one child had drunk unpasteurised milk at the May Bank Holiday party.

The E. coli 0157 bacterium killed 20 elderly people in Scotland last year.
