A tractor crashed through the walls of two semi-detached houses following an incident with a Mercedes car.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 52-year-old man from Boughton, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug driving. He has since been released pending further enquiries.

No serious injuries were reported, although both drivers were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital as a precaution.

The residents of the semi-detached houses affected were “safe and well” according to police.

Cheshire Police have appealed for anyone with information or video footage to come forward.

Sussex incident

Meanwhile, in Polegate, East Sussex, a tractor overturned on the A27 between the A22 Cop Hall Roundabout and the Golden Jubilee Roundabout.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the same day, blocking the road and spilling hay across the carriageway, causing significant delays.

The road remained closed for some time while the tractor was removed and the hay cleared.
