Swaledale success

A SALE of ewes for Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association at Hawes, North Yorks, saw an entry by a £3500 Ash Dubb tup lead the day at £900.

The ewe was consigned by J R and A Blades, Richmond, and was bought by A S and C J L Hodgson, Penrith.

A shearling ewe from local breeders A and J A Iveson stood champion and made £800 to Messrs Lightfoot, Penrith. The reserve championship went to a gimmer lamb from G Birbeck, which made £800.
