Strikes suspended at Case New Holland Basildon site

Strike action by more than 500 workers at Case New Holland’s (CNH) factory in Basildon, Essex has been suspended following a new pay offer by the employer.

Strikes planned for 18-20 and 25-27 June will no longer take place while workers vote on whether to accept the offer.

A 4% increase was offered earlier this year, but trade unions argued it should be higher.

Ten days of strikes have already taken place in May as part of the dispute.

Unite regional officer Michelle Cook said: “As a sign of good faith, Unite has suspended strike action at CNH to allow workers to vote on the new offer. If rejected, industrial action will resume until an acceptable offer is put forward.”

Case New Holland said it was not able to comment further at this stage of negotiations.
