Spray demo is all set for Cereals 98

NEW wheat herbicide JV 485 from Twinagro, the Bayer/Monsanto joint venture company, is to be demonstrated at Cereals 98 together with a time-saving technique for its application.

In trials the herbicide has shown good control of blackgrass, including resistant strains, and most broadleaved weeds.

Applied in a single pre-emergence application, JV 485 remains in the soil and is taken up by the shoots of weeds as they pass through the soil surface. A novel one-pass application technique using a drill mounted sprayer will be on show at the June event.
