Renaissance in crofting
CROFTING appears to be enjoying a renaissance, judging by interest in the Highlands first new crofts for 20 years.
The National Trust of Scotland is to advertise for applicants to live in and work eight crofts at Balmacara Estate, near the Kyle of Lochalsh.
Officials said they had already received 40 applications and expected to be “inundated” with calls once advertisements are placed, reports the Financial Times.
