Perkins sells fresh unit to Greenery for £123.6m


PERKINS Foods has agreed to sell its fresh produce unit to Greenery International for £123.6m and return £45m to shareholders.


The sale includes Disselkoen the fresh produce exporter. However, the deal must be approved from the Netherlands and German merger authorities.


Perkins unveiled full-year pre-tax profits up from £23.5m to £28m on sales up from £466.2m to £626.8m.


Greenery International is the sales and marketing arm of the Dutch growers co-operative. Perkins Foods makes the bulk of its sales in Continental Europe.
