New diesel is a quieter option
VARITYPERKINS has extended its 900 Series three-cylinder diesel engine range, with the introduction of a turbocharged 2.7-litre version.
The 903-27T is available with power ratings of 58.5hp and 64.5hp at 2250rpm and meets stage 1 of the off-highway emissions standards.
Claimed to use less fuel and produce almost no smoke, the new turbocharged engine is 50% quieter than its predecessor. Characteristics are claimed to make the engine suitable for use in compact materials handling equipment.
Most of the improvements, says the firm, are achieved by using a high-pressure direct injection fuel system with a rotary fuel pump and five-hole injectors.n
