New chair for Wales federation
JOHN Davies of Merthyr Cynog, Brecknock takes on the responsibility of leading the 7000 members of Wales YFC as chairman of the Wales Federation for 1997/8.

"The YFC is continuously evolving and developing. My job will be to ensure that we are heading in the right direction, and to support all the staff and volunteers as we go about achieving the goals set."
John (30) raises beef cattle and sheep on 142ha (350 acres) at Pentre, Merthry Cynog, Brecon with wife Menna and parents Elwyn and Olwen Davies. He is also a partner in a wood processing enterprise which aims to add value to native Welsh wood.
