National Women in Agriculture Awards: Nominations now open

The National Women in Agriculture Awards will return for its second year in 2025, recognising the significant contributions of women in the agricultural sector.

Nominations are now open across 12 categories, celebrating women who are shaping the future of farming and food production.

The awards, organised by the Mark Allen Group, will take place on 6 May 2025 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

They will build on the success of last year’s inaugural event and shine a spotlight on female leaders in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Chloe Ryan, editor of Poultry Business magazine and chair of the judging panel, shared her excitement for this year’s event: “Last year’s event in the House of Commons was a truly magical evening celebrating the huge contribution and achievements of women throughout agriculture.

“This year’s event is going to be even bigger and better.”

The awards are sponsored by leading organisations, including Nestlé UK and Ireland, HSBC, and the Co-op.

Incredible work

A representative from Nestlé emphasised the importance of recognising female farmers. “We have been working directly with UK farmers for many years and have always recognised the incredible work done by female farmers.

“This effort often goes unrecognised, which is why we are very proud to sponsor these awards.”

The awards are free to enter, with finalists receiving two complimentary tickets to the ceremony.

Categories include Innovator of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Agriculture, and are all aimed at celebrating the trailblazing women driving the industry forward.

Among last year’s winners was former NFU president Minette Batters, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Julie Eccleston of Traditional Norfolk Poultry, who won Supply Chain Woman of the Year.
