Missing links could delay Scots subsidies

THE re-mapping of Scotland for Integrated Area Control Systems claims is close to being completed, reports the Scottish Office.

But 3500 claimants are about to receive a letter requesting information to link up old and new identification numbers.

Failure to do this could result in subsidies being held back. Some 1200 of the 3500 claims relate to the 1998 Arable Aid Payments Scheme.

In total there are 40,000 missing links, but only 4500 arable fields are involved.
