Majority support fox hunt ban
A GALLUP survey for The Daily Telegraph found that more than 80% of people disapprove of fox-hunting and believe it is cruel.
Some 65% thought it should be banned. A ban on stag-hunting was approved by 63%, hare-coursing 60%, game-shooting 54% and fishing 29%. Some 59% said it should be up to landowners to decide whether to allow hunting on their land.
Meanwhile an alliance of anti-hunting groups will try to maintain the pressure on MPs to vote against fox-hunting with hounds. The House of Commons will discuss Mike Fosters private members Bill to outlaw hunting on November 28.
