Keen sportsman contracts CJD

CHRIS WARNE, 36, of Ripley, Derbyshire has become Britains latest
Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease sufferer. The keen footballer and skier is Britains 23rd victim and has been given less than a year to live.

Meanwhile, neurologists at Kentucky University say squirrels could be linked to the disease after finding similar symptoms in five patients. The news has caused panic in rural Kentucky, where there is a long history of eating squirrel brains, usually cooked with scrambled eggs or in stews.
