&#8226 RARE breed boars are available for AI use following the Rare Breed Survival Trusts decision to re-introduce its pig AI service run in conjunction with Yorks-based JSR Healthbred. &#8226 MIXED pairs of coloured pigs will be judged in an interbreed competition for the first time at this years Royal Show, Jul 6-9.

&#8226 BLACK-AND-WHITE breed society unification talks will be chaired by Earl Selborne, who farms in Hampshire and has been president of the RASE and RABDF, and chairman of the AFRC. He will be assisted by John Sumner, former ADAS head of dairying, who is technical secretary. The Unification Task Force will also comprise three HFS and five BHS board members.
