Green Farm Collective launch new regenerative flour range

The Green Farm Collective (TGFC) has partnered with ingredient supplier Eurostar Commodities to launch a new line of flours, RISE RE:GEN, made from grain grown using regenerative farming practices.

Founded four years ago, TGFC was created by farmers Jake Freestone, Angus Gowthorpe, Michael Kavanagh and Tim Parton to help other growers adopt regenerative practices.

They aim to create new markets for their members’ crops and encourage the use of methods focusing on soil health that reduce environmental impact and enhance farmland biodiversity.

“The Eurostar team has embraced the importance of the farming approach that our members practise,” said Mr Freestone.

“They also recognise that the way we farm should be rewarded, and we couldn’t have asked for more.

“They have developed an exclusive partnership and a bespoke brand of TGFC flours, which they sell to their influential customers for pizza, bread and other wheat-based foods, and also pay us a fair and reflective price for our crops.”

Eurostar Commodities, a family-run business known for importing and supplying ingredients across the UK, Ireland, northern Europe, the Middle East, and Iceland, sees a growing demand for environmentally conscious ingredients.

“The market for regeneratively farmed flours is growing because consumer demand is growing, so it is a proud moment for our business to partner on such an important range,” said Diane Crabtree, sales manager at Eurostar Commodities.

The flour, available in strong and all purpose variants, is sold in 16kg paper sacks.

Although a standard for regenerative farming is still being developed, TGFC is working with Food Integrity Assurance and Trinity Agtech’s Sandy software to ensure the verification of practices such as crop rotations and soil health management.

Mr Freestone added: “Our farmer members from around the UK and Europe are at different stages of their regenerative journeys, and our community shares and supports each other to provide advice.

“Collectively, we are creating a credible, traceable and fully audited set of practices which gives confidence to partners like Eurostar as well as their all-important customer base.”
