GM and BSE shake confidence in biotech
CONFIDENCE in the UKs biotechnology sector has been shaken by controversy over genetically modified food and the BSE crisis, a senior government minister claimed yesterday (Thursday).
Stephen Byers, the new trade and industry secretary. told the BioIndustry Associations annual dinner that the lack of public confidence in science could endanger the UKs ability to stay at the forefront of biotechnology.
