Farmers To Action to stage day of action against Labour

Frustrated farmers, small business owners and their rural supporters are gearing up for a nationwide day of action to oppose the Labour government’s net-zero policies and increasing taxes, calling it a threat to national food security and economic stability.
The “National Say No To The Government Day” on Monday 24 March, which is being organised by the Farmers To Action campaign group, will see a UK-wide display of defiance through tractor convoys, protests and direct action outside Labour offices.
Key demands from the Farmers To Action group include the abolition of inheritance tax for everyone, which they argue unfairly burdens families and hinders the passing of family businesses and farmland to future generations.

The group also demands a focus on supporting domestic food production to ensure national food security, with fair pricing for farmers and the protection of UK fishing waters.
“Farmers To Action are very different from any other farming campaign groups in that we are not just campaigning for farmers, we are fighting for everyone, which is why we say end the death tax, abolish inheritance tax for all, a fair price for farmers, a fair price for all,” said the group’s co-founders Tarquin De Meza and Justin Rogers in a joint statement.
“This government did not bank on farmers being so resolute, and they also did not bank on the farmers getting so much public support.
“And they definitely did not bank on farmers getting organised with serious and seasoned campaigners, which is exactly what Farmers To Action have.”
The group says its slogan, “Stop Labour’s War on Our Country”, sums up the frustration of many who feel the government’s policies are pushing Britain to the brink.
Tractor convoys
The protests will begin with convoys of tractors, lorries and vehicles driving through towns and cities, honking their horns to demand change.
At 12pm sharp, participants will join in a nationwide “Horns Up Against Labour” protest, synchronising a one-minute blast of horns, sirens, and church bells.

Protesters will also be demanding answers from Labour MPs directly about their policies and their stance on food security.
They will display banners with messages like “Hands Off Our Country” and “Stop Labour’s War on Britain,” while also gathering outside key Labour MPs’ offices and council buildings to make their voices heard.
Farmers To Action says its long-term goal is to create a new farming union, a food union, with food and fisheries interests intertwined.
“It’s not just about farming and inheritance tax; it’s about food security, respect for our veterans, and a future for our children,” said a Farmers To Action spokesperson, adding: “We must stand up for our country before it’s too late”.
