Download Farmers Weekly’s Budget protest poster

This week’s print issue of Farmers Weekly (8 November) will carry a Budget protest poster on the back cover calling on the government to rethink the damaging changes to tax policy announced last week by chancellor Rachel Reeves.

Farmers have reacted with anger over the inheritance tax (IHT) hike, with many fearing it will lead to the break-up of their family business.

The Budget also included a negative change in tax status for double cab pickups, and English farmers will see accelerated cuts to their delinked payments.

Meanwhile, lobby groups are making plans to fight back against the proposed changes which will significantly affect farm businesses, with the NFU set to bring 600 farmers to London for a mass lobbying event with constituency MPs in London next week (19 November).
