Rustlers steal 58 sheep from farmer’s field
Sheep rustlers have stolen 58 sheep from a farmer’s field in County Durham.
The 58 Mule and Texel cross sheep were removed overnight Thursday (12 March) from a field at Salters Gate Lane, near Satley.
Some have a green left ear tag – 105607 – and others have both left and right ears tagged. Left ear will have a yellow tag and grey in the right – UK 0165770.

According to rural insurer NFU Mutual, the North West and North East are among the highest areas for sheep rustling in mainland Britain.
In 2013, large-scale sheep rustling in the north-west and north-east of England led to theft claims increases of 68% and 52%, respectively.
Durham Constabulary has asked anyone with information on the Satley sheep theft to call 101, quoting incident number DHM-12032015-0030.
