Coronavirus: Farmers remain key workers in third lockdown
Farmers, farmworkers and vets are on the list of critical workers whose children can still go to school during the third national coronavirus lockdown.
Prime minister Boris Johnson announced strict measures and a “stay at home” message for England on Monday (4 January) to try and curb the spread of the new variant, which has put hospitals under extreme pressure.

It follows similar orders in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with the NHS at serious risk of being overwhelmed.
England’s rules will be reviewed on 15 February, and Scotland’s at the end of January.
The government has said colleges, primary (reception onwards) and secondary schools will remain open for vulnerable children and the children of key workers – this includes farmers, vets and any other workers involved in food processing, distribution and sale or delivery.
All other children will learn remotely until February half term.
The Farming Community Network said its team was ready to help anyone in agriculture who may be struggling.
