Coffee and cocoa trading follows New York

Coffee and cocoa trading took its lead from New York yesterday.

There was a moderate rally in coffee prices on the London
International Futures Exchange with the September contract up $18 a tonne
to $1,578. Prices were driven by developments on the Coffee, Sugar and
Cocoa Exchange in New York.

Cocoa trading on Liffe also followed New York. The London September
future touched a new low of 965 a tonne. The later strengthening was due
to the September contract powering ahead on the CSCE, where it closed up
$19 to $1,516 a tonne.
