Boss of salmon farmers axed on holiday
THE chief executive of the Shetland Salmon Farmers Association (SSFA) has been sacked while on vacation in America.
Magnus Flaws was on holiday for longer than expected. The association had tried to contact him for some weeks but eventually delivered a letter to his home in Dunrossness, which terminated his contract.
The SSFA chairman, Gibby Johnson, blamed the crisis in salmon farming for the sacking. He said low prices meant the association could no longer afford a chief executive.
