Its been hot work for Oxon producer Martin Corely who is using a "seed fiddle" to patch up 12ha (30 acres) of worn out pasture with white clover to boost productivity and reduce reliance on N. He is broadcasting 2kg/acre of a mix of persistant varieties including AberHerald and Kent Wild White over permanent pasture damaged by drought at his 62ha (153-acre) Pucketty Farm, Littleworth, Faringdon. Little N is used on the pasture grazed by his 180 ewes and 80 beef cattle.
