5 reasons to visit Transition Live 2025

With just under two weeks to go until the movers and shakers of the agricultural industry get together for Farmers Weekly Transition Live, we take a look at why you should join us for the day.
The event is part of FW’s Transition project, which aims to support farmers through the complex production, policy and environmental changes facing British agriculture.
This year’s live event is being held at the University of Leeds’ Research Farm on Thursday 8 May and starts at 9am.

Some things you can look forward to:
1. Experts in their field share valuable insight
A team of expert speakers will share their thoughts and insights into some of the biggest issues facing food production, the environment and business.
Leading talks on the day include:
- Food production Sustainable livestock systems, led by Ellie Lovell, Farmers Weekly’s 2024 Young Farmer of the Year, and finance director for Tack Farm, Worcestershire
- Environment Trees and livestock on the farm – making silvopasture work, featuring Andy Gray, from Elston Farm, Copplestone, Devon
- Business Innovative forms of farm finance, with Phil Jarvis, director, Albanwise Farming
2. Discussion panels to help you plan and succeed in future
The headline speakers will be joined by expert panel members from a broad range of experiences, to help you gain a better understanding of the challenges facing your own business.
3. Hear how the host farm is run under a regen agri-policy
Central to the event is the chance to take part in two informative farm walks around Spen Farm, to see the regenerative agricultural trial for yourself, with the second walk covering the farm’s biomass trial.
4. Network, network, network
Farmers from across the UK have already booked their tickets for Transition Live. Join them to share notes, trade ideas and discuss how to face and address business, environmental and production challenges.
5. Earn Basis CPD points
Transition Live is a Basis-registered event and attendees can qualify for six points.Â
