Venue information

The day will be hosted at The Lakeland Farm Visitor Centre where Kerrie and Isaac Benson who are third-generation National Trust farm tenants, focus on breeding award-winning Herdwick sheep and a herd of beef cattle.

Their diversification centres around a new and authentic farm visitor experience in The Lake District between Windermere and Staveley on the A591. Directions to the centre can be found here.

The centre’s main feature is The Lakeland Farm Arena – here visitors can attend daily shows that showcase animals from the farm and they will be given a detailed and informed presentation on the importance of these animals to the farm and how they have helped to shape the landscape that we see today and helped the English Lake District gain UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

The farm diversification also offers other traditional Lakeland farm experiences, including Dry Stone Walling and Wool Spinning classes. Additional to the main farm activities, there is a Café and a Farm Shop & Butchers, offering a relaxed bite to eat and coffee while enjoying fantastic views over the fields towards Windermere and beyond, and the chance to buy local products. More information about the centre can found here.
