Vogel and Noot designs own box drill

Vodel and Noot box drill

Box drills are definitely coming back into fashion, judging by the numbers of them at Newark. The latest company to offer them is Austrian firm Vogel and Noot. It used to sell Fiona drills but has now designed its own.

The Profi Drill D300 3m model is a standalone model that doesn’t need to go on top of a power harrow or cultivator. Accuracy is as good as an air drill, says Vogel and Noot UK’s Finlay Basset, and a staggered arrangement of discs, with the lead one designed to wear quicker, is said to give maximum life.

Forward speed is not quite as fast as an air-drill, concedes the company, but it has a lower price-tag and adjustment is simple.
