Tramspread 24m dribble bar is light and strong
Suffolk firm Tramspread‘s new 24m dribble bar aims to provide a lighter and less expensive alternative to some of the current units on the market as well as being able to be fitted to an average-horsepower tractor.
The aluminium boom was developed jointly with sprayer maker Landquip, which makes booms up to to 48m that can withstand forward speeds up to 15km/hr. Two Vogelsang Exacut macerators distribute the slurry along the boom.
A parallelogram arrangement allows the boom to be adjusted for spread height independently of the tractor’s 3-point linkage. A Tramspread front-mounted swinging arm is fitted to permit U-turns on the headlands. Twin hydraulic gate valves control the flow of slurry to the left and right booms with dribble hoses positioned 300mm apart. All boom functions are controlled electro-hydraulically and there is provision to retrofit a flow meter and monitoring system via an Isobus connection.
The dribble bar weighs 1750kgs and can work at flow rates from 80-250cu m/hr.
