Michelin and Continental expand tyre ranges

Michelin has added seven new tyres to its TrailXBib range for trailers, muckspreaders and slurry tankers.

These use the firm’s Ultraflex technology with a deep tread and VF (Very High Flexion) casing, which is said to help limit compaction and soil damage.

The design should also offer an element of self-cleaning, thanks to a pattern with wide inter-lugs which discourages soil and other debris from sticking to it.

All TrailXBibs are also compatible with central tyre inflation systems.

The seven new sizes – 500/60 R22.5; 600/50 R22.5; 710/45 R22.5; 600/55 R26.5; 710/50 R26.5; 650/65 R30.5 and 750/60 R30.5 – are available for fitment on new implements and as replacements on older load-luggers.

These join the two original tyres – the 560/60 R22.5 and 650/55 R26.5 – launched last year.

A new loader and skid-steer tyre from Continental is the first to feature a Turtle Shield tread layer and twisted steel belt.

Tweaks to the new Compactmaster Ag tyre should help protect the shoulder from cuts and damage, while the wider treads and lug widths offer greater traction than before, the company says.

Using a twisted steel belt helps strengthen the tyre from excessive loads when dry steering on solid ground. The tyre comes in a single size – 460/70 R24.
