Krone releases huge GX twin- and tri-axle trailers
Krone has pulled the wraps off a brace of monster trailers built to haul everything from oilseed rape to sugar beet.
The tandem-axle GX 440 and tri-axle GX 520 general-purpose load luggers come in 44cu m and 52cu m capacities. Filling height is 3.3m as standard, which should make it accessible for harvester spouts and loading shovels, but that can be increased by 680mm using adjustable side extensions.

Both GX trailers can be used to carry all crop types, says Krone – unlike the TX models that are designed solely for silage carting.
They are fitted with a 2m-wide chain-driven walking floor belt, which is powered by a pair of gearboxes connected by a lateral shaft at the front of the trailer to keep them synchronised. Unloading speed for the GX 520 is less than 50secs, while the smaller GX 440 can deposit its contents in 40secs.Â
A moving bulkhead works in tandem with the transport belt on the trailer bed and has rubber seals around its edges to prevent rapeseed and other small seeded crops from leaking out. It includes a large, 10mm-thick window to allow operators to see inside.
There is also a remote control that means the rear door and belt can be operated without a driver in the tractor cab, which could be handy for loading pallets or bales at the rear and moving them into the trailer to fill the whole length. A hydraulic drawbar is available as an option.
