Zetor launches 131-171hp four-cylinder Series 6 tractors

Zetor may have drifted off the UK farming radar, but the Czech firm intends to bounce back – starting with a new 131-171hp Series 6 range.
It encompasses three four-cylinder tractors that replace the Forterra HDs and run a 4.1-litre Deutz engine in place of the previous in-house-built powertrain.

There’s also a new 40kph ZF semi-powershift transmission with five manually selected forward gears and six powershift steps, plus an optional creeper range.
This setup provides plenty of ratios that make for smoother gear changes under load, says Zetor, and a clutchless “smart-braking” system is also included as standard.
As for the rest of the spec, an axial-piston pump delivers a flow rate of 120 litre/min and the rear linkage is good for 7.2t, with 3.5t-rated front arms available as an extra.
Four rear spools are standard – two on the front are optional – and there’s the full suite of 540 and 1,000rpm pto speeds.
Also included are front axle and cab suspension – the latter provided by hydraulic dampers and coil springs – as well as air-conditioning, opening side windows and a new armrest with a big touchscreen monitor.
With the Series 6 now ready for sale, Zetor’s engineers have switched their attention to a new Series 5 that will supersede the 99-136hp Proximas.
The range revamp is set to continue with replacements for the sub-100hp Majors and, in time, a new model that will breach the 200hp mark.
