Fendt adds extra features to its 500-series Vario tractors
Fendt has updated its four-cylinder 500-series Vario tractors to bring several high horsepower features down through its mid-sized fleet.
The company has kept faith with the 4-litre Deutz block which can be tuned to provide between 125hp and 165hp depending on which of the models you pick.
However, the updated oil-burners now tick the boxes for Tier 4f emissions regs by way of AdBlue, a new exhaust gas recirculation system and a separate engine oil radiator. Fendt reckons the new arrangement can trim AdBlue consumption by as much as 50%.

Rear axle load is up by 1t to 8.5t and helps take the tractor’s maximum permissable weight to 10.5t. It can also be ordered with either a flanged or stub axle to allow the track width to be adjusted.
Fendt has added its VarioGuide guidance system to the spec list too, and the auto-steering option gives the choice of two different receivers accurate to 2cm.
For the cab, the 500-series still gets a full glass front but now features a 300deg wiper and 38,000 lumens-worth of LED work lights to improve visibility. It can also be equipped with a factory fitted electronic immobiliser.
