GTC Group offers budget tractor and implement tyres

Another range of “value” agricultural tyres has become available in Britain, as Chinese and Indian manufacturers continue to target Europe for increased sales of their products.

Wholesaler GB Tyres, based in Tipton, West Midlands, has been appointed sole distributor of Advance agricultural tyres, produced by Guizhou Tyre Co (GTC Group).

GTC Group is said to be one of China’s largest tyre makers.

GB Tyres – which also distributes GTC Group’s Samson-brand industrial tyres – moved into the agricultural sector a couple of years ago, stocking farm tyre products from many of the familiar manufacturers.

It then built on that, by acquiring Nordic Tyres in August 2023.

Dumfries-based Nordic is the long-standing distributor of Nokian farm tyres.

It has shared this role with Suffolk-based RH Claydon since the middle of last year, when the Finnish manufacturer sought to strengthen sales and service support for its premium-spec tyres.

The Advance product range comprises mainly crossply traction and implement tyres, as well as a selection of radial flotation and traction products, including the AR100 general-purpose tractor tyre.

Available for 24in, 26in, 28in, 30in, 34in and 38in rims in nominal widths from 320-460mm, the AR100 is speed rated to 40/50kph.

The largest size is rated to carry up to 3,450kg.

The Advance R-1W IF is a more sophisticated design constructed to meet IF specification.

This indicates it can carry a given load at 20% lower inflation pressure than the equivalent “conventional” tyre.

Four sizes are currently available: IF 600/70 R30, IF 800/70 R38 and IF 710/70 R42 with 65kph speed rating (D), and the regular-profile A8 40kph rated IF 520/85 R42.
