Bobcat unveils South Korean-made CT compact tractors
Bobcat has started selling its compact tractors in most European countries following a successful launch in North America, where the company’s brand strength and distribution reach have contributed to rapidly growing sales.
The four-wheel-drive CT tractors, sourced to Bobcat requirements from Kioti-maker Daedong Industries in South Korea, comprise eleven variants in the UK line-up, spanning 25hp to 58hp, and mostly available with an open operator platform and hydrostatic transmission.
They are reckoned to be suited to light farm duties such as yard scraping on dairy and other livestock farms, transport and polytunnel applications in commercial horticulture, and for equestrian, smallholder and grounds-care applications.

While the entry-model CT1025 is more of a large garden tractor, the bigger 2000-series machines of 25hp, 35hp and 40hp can be had with an air-conditioned cab in place of the fold-down rollover protection system (Rops)-equipped platform.
The hydrostatic transmission on these models is a three-speed system controlled by separate forward and reverse pedals that also regulate engine speed, so there is no need to set the revs to a constant rpm unless using the 540rpm rear- or mid-mounted pto.
Alternatively, the 35hp CT2035 Rops and 40hp CT2040 ROPS can be equipped with a 12×12 synchro shift mechanical transmission.
All 2000-series tractors have a 26-litre/min gear pump to supply up to four remote valves and the three-point hitch, with a separate 17-litre/min pump dedicated to the power steering.
Heading the range are the 50hp CT4050 and 58hp CT4058 available in open platform layout only.
These come with a 16×16 H-Shuttle transmission featuring a declutch button on the gear lever for up and down shifts without using the clutch pedal.
There is a 34-litre/min main pump and a steering pump with an output of almost 19 litre/min, plus 540rpm independent pto with an auto-engage/disengage feature linked to three-point hitch lift height.
A front loader and general-purpose bucket, as well as muck forks and pallet forks, are available from the extensive Bobcat attachments portfolio, which also includes tillers, backhoes, rakes, seeders and mid-mounted mowers.
Prices for the 2000-series tractors start at £23,034 for the 25hp CT2025 Rops, and £30,450 for the cab version.
Zetor
Czech maker Zetor has also expanded its compact offering with six Compax models ranging from 18 to 37hp, which are produced in partnership with Indian firm VST Tillers Tractors.
