More than 850 tractors of every description assembled at Nutts Corner in County Antrim last weekend to help celebrate 100 years of Ford, Fordson and New Holland tractors.

Organised by Braid Valley Vintage Enthusiasts, a small tractor group based in Broughshane, the Big 100 event was thought to be the largest ever gathering of tractors in Northern Ireland.

Tractor fans from Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, America and all parts of Ireland and the UK, visited the event, which was also raised money for the Marie Curie cancer charity.

Although the show was open to all brands of tractor, it was blue Fords that dominated the parking lot.

John Crothers, chairman of Braid Valley Vintage Enthusiasts, said: “We are just a small club of about 25 members who wanted to recognise this 100-year anniversary in a special way.

“We have been planning this event for more than three years.

“To have just under 900 tractors on site is a great achievement and one that will be hard to host again.

“Visitors said they will never see such a gathering of blue Ford tractors in the one place ever again.”
