JCB has filled a gap in its Telemaster (TM) articulated telescopic handler line-up with the addition of the TM280.

It lifts 2.75t and has a maximum lift height of 4.8m, slotting between the smaller TM220 and larger TM320 models.

The compact machine has a narrow 1.34m width and 2.27m overall height. An outside turning radius of 3.15m is achieved with 45deg of steering articulation.

Manitou used the Lamma event to preview its new MLT742 series handlers, which will eventually replace MLT741 models.

With a tougher boom design, lift capacity is increased by 100kg to 4.2t, and at maximum lift height the new model carries 500kg more than before.

Additional upgrades include an optional auto-greasing system which now also lubricates the boom and headstock.

Prices and full specification haven’t yet been revealed, but the new model launch is expected in early summer.

Meanwhile, Manitou has announced an optional smart weighing system that will initially be available for the MLT841 before being rolled out to other models.

Handling records are accessed through the in-cab display, or from anywhere through the myManitou smartphone app.
