John Deere autosteer easier to fit on mixed-brand fleets

John Deere’s AutoTrac autosteer system can now be used on machines from other brands without farmers needing to fit a different steering wheel or various controller components.

This makes it far easier to set up than the AutoTrac Universal 300 or Greenfit kit from Reichhardt, though it is limited to those with tractor implement management certification and can only run in conjunction with the firm’s Gen4 Univeral Display (4240 or 4640) and StarFire 6000 or 7000 receiver.

If the machine is equipped with a JDLink modem, data can be transferred wirelessly and free of charge to and from the Operations Center, allowing application maps to be sent directly to the tractor and performance data to be monitored.
