Cereals 2023: Fully autonomous robots set for delivery to UK farms
Four fully autonomous robots manufactured by Dutch robotic firm AgXeed have been sold to the UK market, ready for on-farm delivery next month.
The tracked AgXeed AgBot 5.115T2 was on display at Cereals 2023 and, at a cost of £300,000, comes kitted out with a 4.1-litre four-cylinder Deutz diesel engine and 156hp.
Already compatible with a range of implements, including cultivators, toppers and rollers, the firm is working closely with Amazone seed drills to delve further into drilling operations.

Head of sales Peter Robinson explained: “New features on this model include a longer-range fuel tank which enables the robot to run continuously for 20 hours between fuel refills and machine checks.”
A number of safety features have also been added, including an obstacle-detection system.
The machine’s lidar sensors cover a 30m distance around the robot and comes with a contact-sensitive safety bumper at the front featuring ultrasonic and radar sensors to avoid field accidents.
The robot has a 350-litre diesel tank with a top speed of 13.5km/h. It is controlled by a couple of clicks via the AgXeed data portal, which has seen a number of key updates, including improved path planning.
A 2.055W4 four-wheeled autonomous tractor is also available for lighter soil applications, as well as the 2.055W3 for smart applications in orchards with a three-wheel design.
The manufacturer plans to sell a further five robotic units in the UK market by the end of the year.
