Slicker plumbing for Knight 24-series self-propelled sprayers

Knight Farm Machinery has launched a new 24-series self-propelled sprayer range with a series of performance tweaks over its 18-series predecessor, including neater plumbing.

The so-called Maximizer Pro setup – now used on all Knight sprayers – cuts the amount of pipework by 21%, reducing the distance liquid has to travel and making the system easier to clean.

Like the standard Maximizer system that came before, it continually circulates liquid around the entire plumbing network and feeds the boom at multiple points to maintain even line pressure.

Electronic updates include improvements to the steering for smoother transitions between modes and faster reaction times for its hillside stability system.

Slicker software has also been introduced for the Muller boom height control system so that it offers quicker response times and greater accuracy over undulating terrain.

Four models are available – 2435, 2440, 2450 and 2460 – with respective tank capacities of 3,500, 4,000, 5,000 and 6,000 litres.

All are propelled by Perkins six-cylinder engines with outputs from 175hp to 300hp, which power a hydrostatic transmission with Poclain wheel motors, and they have the option of booms from 24m to 40m.

Prices for a typical-spec 4,000-litre machine with 24m boom is about £270,000.
