Tramspread has introduced a new range of steel storage tanks that can be erected relatively quickly without laying a concrete base.

The Butek Tank stores instead sit on a ring of slabs, inside which is simply compacted earth covered with a Geotech membrane.

This means they can be assembled virtually anywhere, making them particularly handy for livestock farms and AD plants looking for supplementary storage on rented or outlying land where a permanent structure might not be feasible.

The tanks are produced in Britain by Butyl Products and come in capacities of 280, 500, 800, 1,100 and 1,250cu m.

They are treated with a metallic zinc coating said to last three times longer than galvanising, powder coated – with a dark green finish as standard – and lined on the inside with a Landflex Elvaloy membrane.

All versions have a 15cm (6in) filling/emptying port through the store wall, though more can be specced for umbilical work where operators need to simultaneously draw out and recirculate back to the tank.

These include 12cm (5in) ports that go up and over the store wall.

Also available as optional extras are floating or fixed covers to minimise odour release and a hydraulically driven stirrer or agitator pump to mix the slurry or digestate.
