Sima 2022: Samson PGII Genesis tanker gets section control
Section control is now available on Samson’s monster PGII tankers when specced in Genesis guise.
It can be used with any trailing shoe or dribble bar applicator, provided it is operated via the firm’s SlurryMaster 8000 terminal.
The size of the sections the toolbar is split into, and thus the accuracy, is determined by the number of control units fitted across the working width, up to a maximum of 12.

These are linked to hydraulically activated knife gates that start and stop the flow, and can be operated either manually via the joystick or automatically when paired with an Isobus-ready GPS system.
The tankers are also available with Samson’s “hydraulic power drive” driven axle system to provide extra traction in testing conditions.
The tractor’s pto runs an on-board Black Bruin hydraulic motor, with oil piped through a cooler to the middle one of three BPW axles.
This delivers up to 170hp, meaning owners can potentially pair the 12t tanker with a slightly smaller tractor.
One other alteration is the fitment of bigger wheels – 800/60 R34s – thanks to a rejig that has seen the arches lifted and the chassis lengthened.
Capacity remains 28cu m and, at Sima, it was fitted with the firm’s 7m SDII 700 incorporator with twin rows of 510-diameter discs.
