Bunning scales up Lowlander output with disc-spreading HBD models
Farmers and contractors wanting a relatively compact manure spreader with the discharge performance of a larger machine have an option in Bunning’s Lowlander HBD disc-spreading series.
The Norfolk-based manufacturer builds four spreader series, from the Farmstar in two sizes from 6-10.2cu m capacity to the Lowlander Widebody in three sizes up to 40cu m.

All come with a pair of vertical beaters to shred and discharge, but most can also be had as HBD versions with two horizontal beaters behind a canopy and a pair of 1.1m-wide spreading discs.
Normally, the Lowlander 105, 120 and 150 Mk4 HBD machines are equipped with a 1.5m-wide horizontal beater setup.
Now, greater output can now be obtained by going for the 1.83m-wide HY (hybrid) beater installation normally reserved for the biggest models.
GT Bunning & Sons’ UK & Ireland sales manager, Ben Johnson, says: “This is a useful upgrade for operators requiring increased output, but wishing to retain the benefits of a smaller machine.
“Upgrading to the Widebody beaters means more material can be processed on to the discs than with the standard system, and the increased width can result in a more even flow of some products at high rates, which, in turn, can give wider and more consistent spread patterns.”
He adds that the HBD design will accurately throw products such as farmyard manure, compost, chicken litter and sewage sludge to more than 30m.
A 14t, 15-19cu m capacity Lowlander 120 HY HBD will be exhibited at the Royal Highland Show in June, priced from £52,155.
