John Deere buys Italian sprayer maker Mazzotti

John Deere has snapped up Italian sprayer brand Mazzotti in a move that will enable the US-based manufacturer to expand its reach across Europe.

Mazzotti is known for its self-propelled sprayers sold primarily in southern Europe for specialist crop production, plus skid units for other manufacturers including Vicon’s iXdrive.

The acquisition does not affect existing manufacturing and distribution arrangements either for Mazzotti or for John Deere self-propelled sprayers produced by the John Deere Horst factory in The Netherlands, and there are no plans for Mazzotti sprayers to be sold in the UK and Ireland.

The small family-owned sprayer company has been manufacturing and designing machines for 30 years in Ravenna, Italy, and will continue to trade under its name while having the full support of John Deere.
